All 80s Weekend (Buzz Style)

Only been going on for about a half hour now. But 941 is doing all 80s this weekend and its kicking ass so far, really, truly palying 80s music, not format. IE: Winger is on right know and the last song was from Tone Loc about the funky cold modenna.

Okay got one question for anyone listening when they kicked off 25 in a row Firday night... What was that song they played right before Madonna's "Spanish Lulaby"? It was diffently 80s metal rock, and it was awesome! Sadly I didn't get to the buzz site until after it ended, so no luck there, and it appears there pulling a "No one's home weekend" also, tried calling the requet line, its been busy for a half hour.

Tune in and go retro trippin!

BTW: The name/artist of that song would be very much appricated!

Hmm, so they play 25 in a row, and then come back and play about, what was that, 4 or 5 in a row? All the while saying they're playing 25 in a row??

Only song I've heard that I was actually surprised to hear so far is "And We Danced" by the Hooters. I can't remember the last time I heard that...no, wait, it was on the Max a couple months ago.

*yawn*

IMHO, this is a mistake. They're validating FM 100's Whateverland (which I'm also not sure is a great idea). It's essentially going to be a 2 day commercial for something that 100 is giving people non-stop. Not a good tactical move, when they should being trying very hard to be everything that the other stations are not.

Also...spellcheck would be a good investment for you, bro.

Dwayne,

Thanks for playin man, but that is not the one I'm searching for...though it did play right after Brad and Dana signed off. The song I'm looking for had a male on lead vocals, and was diffently metal.

Not sure I follow you on this being a Whatever land knock off. This is strictly pure 80s, whatever on FM is all sorts of stuff, 90s crap, new stuff, a few 80s and an incresingly annyoing amount of Christmas songs. It might be for 2 days, but it's two days FM has lost from me.

BTW, spell check probably would be good, thanks for the suggestion....

No I think the are running sets of 25 in a row...I've been real pleased with the offering, lots of great 80s stuff and not staying stuck on one 80s genre ie: all new wave, all glam rock, etc.

It would be cool if they had a jock and not letting this run on auto pilot...

There are many people who love 80's music in this town. The problem in the past is radio stations played the same few songs over and over being style specific. Growing up in the 80's there were many different styles of 80's music; hard rock, soft rock, pop, and love ballads. I used to love FM100's Eighties at 8 back in the day. I became disgusted, because the on air personality would not have many songs I requested. Then they would turn around and play "Mickey" and "Tainted Love" over and over. One night while driving from Millington to Covington, a thirty minute drive, the dj played Eddie Grant's Electric Avenue twice in that same thirty minutes. One time as a request fifteen minutes after he orignally played the song. Then he played the same song on the way home an hour and half later. We could not believe it. Another mistake stations made was playing disco songs of the 70's with different styles of 80's music. Totally different in not just music, but era. There are so many 80's songs that made people happy. However Top40/AC stations would not play the hard stuff and Rock stations would not play the pop stuff. Don't limit playlists. Let all the songs rip.

Hmm, according to yes.com, that was the song prior to Madonna's song.
Perhaps it was Aerosmith's "Rag Doll?"
