That might be the best hour of radio in Pittsburgh, if Gene's allowed to be himself. Should be more than an hour (think, 46 minutes, after news and spots), but I'm not sure Collier can do 3 hours.

However, that would probably also kill his DVE morning show recurring gig.

Bring it on!

I leave you with this bit of Collier wisdom from two years ago:

Do you ever get the feeling that waiting around for the Continental Tire Bowl to start is something like that dream where Michael Jackson is following you around the Giant Beagle with his shopping cart piled high with Mexican scallions and, when you both get to the check out, Jacko asks to borrow your Advantage Card? And you tell him you forgot yours and he says you wouldn't say that to a white man and you say, "I just did."

It makes sense to what they want to do- BUT!

I have no idea what that man just said.

Back to Milford

KDKA is lucky to get Milford. He's got a lot of experience, including ABC anchor back in the '80's two tours of embedded reporting in Iraq (aboard the first tanks into Baghdad) and more hurricanes than I can count. He's got great pipes, excellent writing skills, and is a determined reporter. He was the CBS go-to guy for the midwest and TEXAS, til jealous co-workers did him in at KRLD. They don't make 'em like Rob anymore.

So Milford will eventually replace Kopler in the mornings? I believe Kopler is past retirement age, but they wanted him to stay and made it worth his while to do so when his contract was up the last time.
