Doesn't matter. It seems to be a success for most stations. And the women are digging it!

Hey! Watch your generalizations! I'm a guy and I love Christmas music. I was a little sad that they waited this long to start! It's actually the only time all year I would listen to 104.5 and the "B." Of course, now I guess it's just the B.

I disagree, I am a woman and I certainly do NOT dig 6 weeks of all XMAS music. I believe the respectable thing to do is on Thanksgiving go all XMAS for the whole weekend, cause its a holiday!!!

Then I mix in about 2 songs an hour or maybe 3 until the week before XMAS December 18th and then go all XMAS!!!

papaul1967, agreed but the only thing I see that is a positive is the money that my Rose will be raking in!!! As long as it keeps them chugging along throughout the year, I can sacrifice them for the "all XMAS brigade!!! It sucks real bad, no doubt, but if it makes them money to keep healthy, I have to stand behind it.

I still believe that my solution is still the best though!!!

You're so right--what ever happened to moderation?

Beats the hell out of the ad nauseum 6+ weeks of Nat King Cole singing about his nuts roasting on an open fire. ;D

I enjoy Christmas music. I enjoy ice cream. I enjoy airchecks that are better than...yeah. But, I enjoy all of these things in moderation. Luckily, the station I works for does the Christmas music thing gradually until a few days before Christmas, and then the playlist is solely Christmas-y.

You do bring up a good point Jim, but you're comparing apples to oranges. They're not the same.

Jim I am with you!!!

BTW, you can add WLEV's name to the all XMAS brigade come Thursday Night at 7PM, went through the Lehigh Valley today and heard all about it. ::)

Exciting stuff no doubt ???

Again, if I had to listen to all XMAS it be The Rose, but I don't even listen to my ultimate fav station do it, so I certainly will not partake in theirs.

I'm willing to give this much credit to these Christmas stations: At least they waited til Thanksgiving week. Correct me if I'm wrong but in the not too distant past, the Christmas flip in this market has happened as early as November 1.

And with the findings in the PPM test done in Philly showing listenership to these stations doesn't actually take off until around Thanksgiving, perhaps "restraint" will become the norm in the future.
