Schallert has appeared on HBO's 'True Blood' semi-regularly, and, a year or so back, he did voice work (as a 'Guardian of the Universe') for an animated 'Green Lantern' direct-to-video movie(aired on Cartoon Network as a pilot for a forthcoming series).

Back to the topic. Since apparently the Big 3 were all, all color in prime time in the fall of '66, I guess The Munsters and The Addams Family would've been included in the trend, had they not been axed, whatever the visual effect, no?

If you include daytime TV, NBC didn't technically become "The Full Color Network" until November 1966, when "Concentration" began airing in color. It was the last of the holdouts, mainly because Norm Blumenthal, the producer, didn't want to show color puzzles fearing that people would guess them too quickly. He finally relented, allowing pink drawings on a maroon background instead of the old light gray-dark gray from the monochrome days.

Norm, BTW, is active on the Game Show Forums as well. Can't imagine how old he must be right now as he was probably in his late '30s/early '40s when "Concentration" was cancelled in 1973.

I was practically raised on "Concentration" when I watched TV as a child. Too bad there were no VCR's then....I missed quite a few shows because of school. I read about Concentration holding off on the color.

If Norm is active on the Forums (which ones in particular? I might hop on), I wonder if he is privy to knowing how many original episodes *really have* survived the NBC wiping (I just saw a recent addition on YouTube of the show when Art James hosted in 1959). It's been a matter of speculation....if anybody would know, it's Norm!
