"All Jack'd Up"?

WTF? http://dfw.cbslocal.com/category/watch-listen/all-jackd-up/

This apparently is a late-night, weekly local program on Channel 21 that showcases alternative groups (although tonight's show was showcasing several Alice Cooper rejects who incorporate gutteral screams instead of vocals.) Honestly, this looked like bad public-access channel stuff from the 1980s...complete with bad hair, outdated headbanging/shaking, poorly-OVERdone makeup, etc, and the usual poor camerawork and cheap videotape "glossiness." (What could 22 mins of tape cost to send to FilmLook, anyway?) I was expecting to see a contest to win an '81 Camaro complete with gun rack.

Stranger than all of that is that Jack-FM is the sponsor (hence the name, "All Jack'd Up.") This isn't even the music Jack plays. And CBS doesn't even have a station in the local cluster that plays alternative, metal, glam, headbanger or even plain ol' modern rock...and THIS is tied to the station that has Harry Chapin's "Cats in the Cradle" in regular rotation? Music videos from the 80s would have made more sense. Or, letting Robert Miguel in on the action to mine the local scene for genuine talent.

Or this is merely a case of a radio "celebrity" with an inside connection at the station who pitched a lame idea for a TV show? (Or just bought the time?) I can think of two other local examples offhand...and both of those got buried in late Sat night timeslots as well, and died there...one of them more than once.
