All MJ, all the time!?

It's b-a-a-c-k! Sort of, anyway.
1330AM KWFM (ex-Jolt) has been running an all Michael Jackson format all day today. No breaks, did not hear a legal ID. Have to tune in tomorrow to see how long the MJ marathon lasts!

Relax, "Mr. Jittery". ;D

MJ all the time sounds like a sure fire pre-set prompter.

Why not play "Itsy Bitsy Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" if you want to drive listeners away?

Still going on this afternoon. Not just the MJ/J5 hits you know and love, but remixes of MJ songs, MJ songs covered by others (Mariah Carey, etc.), and songs that MJ appeared on with other artists ("We Are the World", "Somebody's Watching Me", etc.). Everything MJ, minus the weirdness!

MJ-athon still going strong as of this evening. I have now heard two legal IDs, both about 4 minutes after the top of the hour: "KWFM, South Tucson".
What's kind of funny is that I've probably listened to them more the past three days than I have since they were KHYT!

We need to be quiet. The only reason that the collective genius that is KWFM put a legal ID on is because we mentioned it here. We need to let that "Weathered Radio veteran GM" show us all up.

hes wasting a perfectly good signal, i looked at the radio range for KWFM and the signal coverage is great, im hoping he sells it to Cumulus or Lotus, when he does get fined, he has no clue how to run a station, look how horrible its been the last couple of months?? on and off, now MJ, all the time, sell the station dude. :-[ :-[

I would like to know the amount of $$$ in fines this kind of action racks up from the FCC.

LOL! Amy Ulm is probably wrapping John C. Scott in plastic and beating him with a stick at this point.

This kind of action? WTF! As your husband says "Are you nuts?"

There has been a legal ID at the top of every hour. Aircheck service confirmed that.

KWFM sounds great! I read on the net they now have a new tower and a 10,000 Watt transmitter. Hence the good signal coverage.

Of course someone who hasn't worked for the station for well over a year is flagellating themselves over your screwups, Dawn. Make sure you keep insisting those IDs were played, too, because your saying so will magically make it true for the FCC.

WHAAATTT????? Let me get this straight. NO ZERO NADA revenue coming in. NO ZERO NADA ratings and you're buying a new transmitter and tower???????????? A 10K rig will run you anywhere from 25 to 50 grand. New Tower? Proof please. New tower will run at least $250K. And the best part is you actually paid money to an air check company to refute a claim made here?
WOW! ALLLLLLL BACKWARDS JUDY!

KWFM does have pretty good audio quality for an AM station. However, I haven't noticed any signal strength improvement since they returned to the air. If 1330 is planning any facility changes they really need to remedy their nightime null to the NW side of the metro area.

As long as their public files are up to date and they give their legal ID and make their day/nighttime pattern changes ( as well as run within their power and pattern parameters, I can't imagine how or why the FCC would fine them. I don't quite understand the comment about the FCC fining them, not that I'm any big fan. From what I gather, there is no "format" requirements whatsoever from the FCC. So they sound like a mono ipod, don't half of the FM stations in Tucson do exactly that, except in stereo?

They went on for a solid week of no broadcast, then came on for days without any ID. That was the point of the comments people were making at the time. Since then they have added IDs so I'm told, I have yet to hear one, but then again, I just don't listen at all.

There are no requirements for format, you are correct, but there are requirements when playing a certain products. Such as Talk shows, Musical artists etc...

From what I know of Dawn Avalon and Dr. Stan Jittery, they have little regard for rules. Fact is, that station is going to be very hard to sell (contrary to Judy G who was given false information about the sale of 1330, unless Judy is indeed Dawn herself but she'll just go on rebuking those claims). The equipment for the station is on Dr. Jitterys land. A residential type set up now. selling it would need alot of odd stipulations to get the towers sold. Those are cold hard facts.

The majority of people on this board seem to hate this station , yet you'll seem to be the only ones listening. I think that is called an obsession.
