All-News Scoreboard for Large Markets: June 2014

When the weather turns warm, All-News stations often see a dip in their numbers. But WTOP stayed at #1 in Washington, WBBM Chicago and KCBS San Francisco remained at #2, WBZ Boston finished in third place and WWJ Detroit in fifth place. Unfortunately, I have moved WYAY off this list, leaving Atlanta as the only large market with no All-News station. Cumulus became impatient with its numbers after only two years in the format, and put Talk shows in most dayparts, except for AM and PM Drive. WYAY is now on the Talk Radio scoreboard.

1. New York...WCBS #7 tie ... WINS #11
2. LA...KNX #15 tie
3. Chicago...WBBM/WCFS(FM) #2
4. San Francisco...KCBS/KFRC(FM) #2 ... KGO*^ #21
5. Dallas...KRLD* #18
6. Houston...KROI(FM)^ #22
7. Washington...WTOP(FM) #1 ... WNEW-FM^ #21
8. Philadelphia...KYW #10
9. Atlanta...No All-News Station
10. Boston...WBZ* #3
(11. Detroit...WWJ #5)
