All News WYAY launching May 29th- and Launch Preperation discussion

WYAY is, according to one of the Kicks DJs I spoke to, is going to start running jockless on Wednesday. Then on the Tuesday after Labor Day will go 24/7 news. Right now, WYAY is running with little commercial/DJ interruption. So much for mid-may.
 
Wonder if they are doing a "reverse stunt" to blow up the station...10,000 songs in a row for Memorial Day weekend...?

I am still wondering if AGH is going to cross-promote Journey as Cumulus's new home for classic hits.

It's not the kind of thing you'd want to draw attention to, and it's kind of pointless if you aren't selling spots, but if you're running jockless, why not? It would be a great way to promote the new station among the most likely audience as well as migrate listeners to Journey.

Don't know about that. When you compare the coverage maps of WYAY and Journey, it's obvious there are so many listeners that are gonna get the message, "We don't give a flip about you". :( We'll see...

I think you meant to say the day after Memorial Day.

I don't know and it doesn't really matter. This has nothing to do with FM News.

I listened this morning-- KC was there and try are acting as though this thing will never happen. Maybe that's where GoodTimesandGreatOldies is, at "Occupy 106.7". Haha

Anyone know what time Tuesday morning? 4 AM? 5 AM?
 
I have been told that they will do a soft launch over the weekend..... and then go ahead with the real "launch", that all the TV stations care about on Tuesday Morning.
 
Stream of what? AHG or All News?
