All of Houston's towers stood up Ike?

Up in Tomball, KSEV 700 has been running with reduced power during the day. At last report they were running with the nighttime level of 1,000 watts since their generator wasn't powerful enough.

And interestingly, I've noticed that KGOW has been been running with higher power overnight, at least when I checked a couple of nights ago. It seemed to be considerably more than their authorized 100 watts. Granted, after midnight a station can do program tests with facilities at variance from what's on their license but what I heard had promos, commercials and all. It was regular programming.

I believe the chances of them rebuilding the facility is small. I assume that now, Univision will just wait on the pending application for KPTI to move to Winnie. Will make little sense to rebuild if they are granted the application to move, that is unless they don't own the place and are just leasing it, then it is up to the landlord, but even then, I don't see KPTI back on the air anytime soon.

I heard 1560 quite clearly on the Gulf Freeway a few nights ago, and was definitely surprised.
A station I have not been hearing as clearly since the storm is 790 ... did they lose a tower? That strong lobe they put toward my area (League City/Friendswood) hasn't been nearly as strong; I was at Kroger at 45 and 518 a few nights ago and there was considerable Spanish-language interference in the background.
610 is still blasting toward the Gulf as usual. They put a heck of a lobe in my direction, at the expense of very poor reception up north.

I noticed the HD was cut off on KKBQ or is it just on low power? I also noticed the weekend of the storm The buzz's HD-2 channel was off Mix was off and Sunny's was off. The subchannels was off but the HD signal was on.

Mix & Buzz's HD2's have since returned.

However, HD on KRBE, 93Q, and The Box are still off.

Surfing the dial over the weekend I was amazed by the commercial load on most stations. It looks like a lot of advertisers are spending money to let the public know they're back in business.

What about Majic? No HD through last week.
