Does anyone remember what station was all request for awhile?
Not the KRLA "experiment", but maybe an Orange County station.
And since it was plugged as "All Request Radio", the music was all over the place. You could hear the Stones and the Beatles followed by Percy Faith or Lawrence Welk. Of course, much of top-40 was that way too. A bunch of novelty hits were played since kids jammed the phone lines.
AOR ... Anything Goes Radio, I guess.
If I heard the call letters, I know I would recognize it. Maybe it will come to me. Perhaps, I am suffering from dementia, if I could remember what dementia is.
OK, now I remember, KWIZ, Santa Ana I think. 1965.
OK, I cheated ... I looked at my tape.
Michael would have had an answer faster than a speeding bullet.
Anyway, does anyone remember that station? The DJs? How long it lasted.
Short jingles ... K-W-I-Z. Friendly sounding jocks, not a lot of personality -- just played the requests.
