ALL THAT JAZZ AND CAROL ARCHER JOIN FORCES TO FILL SMOOTH JAZZ FORMAT VOID

(Las Vegas, NV) -- Prominent radio promotion firm All That Jazz, Inc. and celebrated music journalist Carol Archer announce the formation of a new Smooth Jazz editorial column, “The Straight Skinny.” The weekly column will debut Tuesday, August 4 on the All That Jazz website, www.allthatjazzinc.com. “The Straight Skinny” will address the challenges facing the Smooth Jazz format with insight from a diverse cross-section of the industry and will spotlight artists and music that comprise the heart of the format.

I am hoping that she will address the future of the music and the groundbreaking indie media people who are moving it forward rather than just covering the small group of people who have come to power in the format over the last decade or so because that group has had a voice over time as the rest have been sidelined and quieted. We need all perspectives and viewpoints now because moving forward is going to require a very diverse and creative "think tank."

The same old same old has not worked and the people who are dancing in front of the stage and screaming for more at the live gigs are not going to keep the radio station, internet or terrestial, on if they just hear relaxing instrumental versions of a song that is older than they are mixed with songs that came out when they were in kindergarten. They want what they are seeing live. Give that to them and the audience and the genre will grow!
