All the hits

Well, WDVD in Detroit is a Hot AC, and they use the slogan "Today's Best Hits Without The Rap". I think if a hot AC is more of an Adult Top 40, they might use the "All The Hits" slogan.

Right, and I described KEHK on the Oregon board as a recurrent-heavy CHR, so I guess it makes sense. For WRQX though, they seem to be following the WDVD model and I think they should have the same slogan.

As Hot AC has continued its evolution towards a more CHR slant in music and presentation, it makes sense to use "All the Hits". It seems like most of the complaints on this board about CHR is that it isn't balanced- so if this reflects the larger community's reaction to CHR today, then it makes sense to take that position away from your CHR rival.

If a hot ac station isn't anti-rap and really does play all the hits, old songs and new songs, "all the hits" would be a perfect description.

In Chicago, the hot ac station WTMX might actually be more musically balanced and closer to playing all the hits than either chr/pop station is.

A conservative rock leaning station using the "all the hits" just seems a bit dishonest to me. It's just like those classic hits stations and adult hits stations that play rock music and mostly ignore the disco, funk, hip-hop, r&b, techno, and so on.

This is merely my opinion from a listener's point of view.
