All-time favorite Christmas hits that now seem to be missing

I haven't heard "The Little Drummer Boy" by the Harry Simeone Chorale so far although, truth be told, I'm not listening to the Christmas stations "all the time" as others seem to do. This is the quintessential version of this Christmas classic which was a charted hit for a number of years starting in 1958, and has been a Christmas staple in the past.

Are there others that seem to be missing?

If I had a dollar for everytime that I hear that song on WSPA I'd be rich....

I hear less of Eartha Kitt's "Santa Baby." I usually hear Madonna's version recently. I hear Sugar Ray's version of "Little Saint Nick" more than The Beach Boys' this year, or perhaps it's just the station.

I counted that song five or six times, though I'm like you. I just turn the all-Christmas stations on when I want to.

The less of this I hear, the better.

Now Madonna's wuld be worse.

I have no desire to hear The Beach Boys sing about Christmas, and certainly not Sugar Ray. I see Mark McGrath seven times a week on "Don't Forget the Lyrics" and that's enough.

The Davie Bowie/Bing Crosby duet/medley of "Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth" has been mysteriously absent in recent years.

I heard another version of that the other day.

Bing was a pioneer. Back then you didn't have contemporary artists singing with the greats. You do now.

"Jingo Jango" by Bert Kampfaert

(Actually I did not know the name of this until I heard it on YouTube last year or 2 years ago....when you hear the melody, you older folk will remember.)

Haven't heard this in maybe 15 years on radio or TV. (Was this not the tune played with the "Norelco Santa"?)

I heard that quite a bit over the X-mas season this year. Same with Beach Boys Little Saint Nick and the original Eartha Kitt Santa Baby, while Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer or some of those stupid novelty songs (except for Jackson 5's I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus) were almost completely absent this year.

I heard "Grandma" many times (including the moment I got in my car after the late Christmas Eve service). Don't mind it a bit.

there is also a cover version of 'Grandma" but I haven't heard the Elmo and Pasty version that many times this year. I've only heard dogs barking Jingle Bells only once. Many people began to complain about "grandma" so it may have run its course. What about these old chessnuts

"christmas is acoming (the turkey leg song). Haven't heard that one since the seventies
"laughing Jingle bells"
"something stuck in the chimney" and various other Bob Rivers novelties
"I yust go nuts at Christmas"
"I'm getting nothin for christmas"
"The great white north" Doug and Bob Mackensie
"Santa Claus and his old lady" Cheech and Chong
"Elvis christmas greeting (?) Bob Rivers? Hilarious
"Santa Claus is coming to town and Jingle Bells Bing Crosby and Andrew sisters (not the cheesy Barry Manilow remake
"Rusty Chevrolet"

This one was corny/cheesy IMO, but....

Jingle Bells (j-i-n-g-l-e bells)---Frank Sinatra

I nearly avoided that Paul McCartney song. I heard the first note, recognized it and quickly got off that station.

NPR played a little more of it but only a little more.

I may have avoided "Sarajevo" but I'm not sure. If it starts with "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" I did hear the first few notes somewhere.

Because of all the songs I dislike, I've been avoiding listening and now it's all gone--even the good stuff--too soon.
