He's "filling in" on WLAV where Kevin Matthews went and streaming over: http://www.wlav.com/ The guy is sounding great even without the chimes and funny too. Reminds me of when he did afternoons at CKG back when it was good. Stagg actually sounds better than anything on in Chicago right now as far as natural personality goes. What in the world is wrong with this picture people? Chicago gets the likes of Rover and other no-names and a pro like Stagg has to go Grand Rapids to be on the air? Hello?

Didn't he host Sanctuary? Does he still do that and is available for syndication? I remember listening to that when I was working in Chicago. I would listen to that on my way home from my gig on another station back in the late 90's. I'm now PD of a station may be interested...

Ed: The only thing I don't like about the stream from WLAV is it seems to cut Stagg off sometimes in mid-sentence going into a "local commercial break" and then picks back up in the middle of a song!

As for Oxnard: That must have been when he was at CD94.7 when you heard him.

A Google search netted quite a history at http://440int.com/namess2.html#_astagg including Grand Rapids appears to be his home town and: "I parted company with 'The Drive' (Classic Hits WDRV-FM, Chicago) over wording on a tongue-in-cheek photo tour, still retained on my one of my listener web sites: alpictures.com (where it's all pretty self-explanatory as to what happened). While a few quips made in jest didn't sit well with Bonneville's programming department, I've learned since then that several stations have, or are considering, using similar station 'photo tours' as a promotional idea!?!"

But there is this too: "I recently hooked up with longtime friend, broadcast veteran, David Martin, in taking Sanctuary to the next level and syndicating the program. Meanwhile, I continue to do imaging (many years as the voice of KINK-FM in Portland, Oregon) as well as commercial voice-over work & audio production while looking to land my next regular gig: allanstagg.com/available.html (several 'pop-up' pages of audio samples & memories provided). Enjoy. Stay tuned..."

When you go to "Allan Stagg is available" at http://allanstagg.com/available.html it has more history and audio from the Drive as well as "The History of Sanctuary" http://allanstagg.com/history.html with audio from CD94.7 including an "ABC Sanctuary Presentation."

Then there is this: http://allanstagg.com/pro_audio.html that features a lot of his commercial work including music backgrounds apparently created by Stagg?

However if you simply go to the home page: http://allanstagg.com/ it hints at "The next level" of Sanctuary "coming soon". Where? WLAV in Grand Rapids? Not sure if it's a done deal or maybe a syndication? He just said something a bit ago about it being his last night filling in. It might be worth a try to make contact. Who knows? I do remember an ad for him on AllAccess last year sometime.

The contact seems to be David Martin though the e-mail address that comes up is [email protected]

I'm just happy your question led me to find all this great audio. Thanks!

The man is indeed a rare talent, a throwback to the glory days
of personality radio. Let me also pass along a link to the
most updated website containing the very latest airchecks of
Allan Stagg.....http://www.allanstagg.com/staggaircheck.html

I know he did at least one "trial run" of Sanctuary at WLAV on Saturday night (6pm-midnight, I think) a few weeks back. I, too, wonder if it's a done deal.

Warning: The web site's server's has some infected files on it that set off my anti-virus and forced me to do an Ad-Aware. Forewarned and all that.
