5PM and Anarchy in the UK is spinning, they must listen to their emails, FINALLY its on. This station is amazing with the tremendous library they are getting into, the other two cannot compare, its the same, safe rock, I had to put my XM away in the car, WRFF is so much better. Just for the record, same time - YSP had someone talking about being in a Rap band and MMR was playing Sympathy for the Devil, ha ha to both. A good liner for WRFF could be, "while one is yakking and the other is whimping, we are rocking". I predict top 5 by years end.

i'm trying to get 104.5 in my shop class. its the only rock station that doesnt suck that doesnt have a morning show. but the reception on the shop radio aint too great, its a piece of speaker wire. ZZO comes in tho, but im not too big of a ZZO fan. so i have to put the hawk on. MMR and YSP come in good, but MGK and RFF wont come in clear, which is wierd b/c MGK and RFF have stronger signals in that area than MMR and YSP. so i listen to the hawk until 9 because they play some tunes in the morning, then at 9, i turn on WYSP (b/c MMR still has preston and steve on, btw what time is P&S over?), because they play all the hard rock.

FWIW, I've heard WRFF blaring in a local garage, from a neighbor across the back alley who happened to be working in their garage, and from some random factory next to Diamond furniture in Kensington. I'm hoping they keep going in the older/alternative-y-er direction as well (not just the same Pearl Jam and Nirvana already on WYSP and WMMR [though I did hear "You Know You're Right" last night, which was great])

WRFF does need to be A LOT more proactive with the new music, though. They're playing only about 20 songs by my count, and some of them are way too old to be considered currents (i.e. Muse's "Starlight"). Credit is due for expanding the playlist though I would still like them to drop the Hot AC titles (The BoDeans, Lifehouse, 3 Doors Down, etc). But they still have the competition beat by a landslide in terms of quality. Sure beats the same old predictable hits that the other rock stations in town are slamming. Hopefully Radio 104.5 will perform well and the other stations will make adjustments.

Just a few bands RFF plays that the other two won't touch, Pistols, Screaming Trees, Flys, Smiths, Tonic, Nixons, its nice to tune in a station, not knowing what is coming on next. That is the problem with WOGL, as an oldies station they are predictable and should not be. Getting back to the subject, MMR and YSP just play the same cuts, YSP should break loose and play it all from Hair Metal to Nu Metal, Grunge, Classic Rock minus the Chicken Rock, Punk, Hard Alternative and new cuts, this is a good time for Rock there are so many new Rock/Alternative bands out now....Now that I have Fuse I can honestly enjoy the new acts and RFF plays quite a few....

Wow, they are playing Green Day "Jesus Of Suburbia" It is like 9 minutes long. I could be wrong, but this is the first time I have heard this song on the radio. Maybe some other stations were playing it when it was new.

I gave that a lot of airplay on my old show, but that was on college radio and doesn't count.

Runwithscissors, you need to stop posting the same exact thread every week. It's a tired act.

I love Jesus Of Suburbia, great song. The radio edit that most Clear Channel stations play is 6 1/2 minutes long. I still play the 9 min one it is way better.

I heard RFF play the 9 minute version a couple of times. The station has balls, but manages to keep a mass appeal. I've been streaming the station a lot!

WXRK NY used to play it alot in the Great Rock Period era before the switch to Free FM.

They played "Fire woman" from the Cult on the morning drive today. It almost got me a speeding ticket.

The one issue I've got with the station is their editing. In Sublime's "Wrong Way" they edit out the "ass" of "drunk-ass dad" yet leave in "wanna shoot your dad" which, if listening through the ears of one worried about content, sounds worse. Alternatively, in the Sulversun Pickups' "Lazy Eye" they edit out "locked" of "locked and loaded", and don't just replace it with a riff, they just clip it out and ruin the tempo of the song. BUT, the other day during a song, I believe a "shit" was left in (pretty sure, heard the song soon after on WYSP and it was edited). Also, twice I've heard a song played (both times after midnight) where "****ed" was CLEARLY left in.

This isn't me hollering for them to look over their songs, just shows the stupidity that comes from all the different editing, because god forbid curse words go out over the airwaves! Babies' hearts will stop, cars will veer into oncoming traffic, kids will shoot up their schools, sheer mayhem will ensue!

They are the only on-air station I heard, that plays the full version of the James cut, the part "she always c*** when shes on top", XM's Lucy cuts that out believe it or not. And on another negative note, this is what I mean with the vulgar talk that the suits think has to be said on Rockers. On the Kidd show the other day, I was taking a few children to the mall and just flipped them on to see what was going on, they were talking about the female from the White Stripes in a porn video having sex. Give me a break, I had kids in the car, I had to switch the station fast, it seems you cannot put a station on that plays Rock without hearing that vulgar jargon, where does it state in the code of Rock Radio that all bits, jocks and on-air chatter has to deal with sex. Couzin Ed was the king of that garbage. Again bravo to WRFF for just playing the music without that vulgarity, and the ratings prove sex talk = no ratings.

Radio 104.5 is a great station, but, if they supposedly dont play classic rock, whats with The Police, Billy Idol, The Cure, and U2?

i just wish they would throw the occasional Zeppelin, AC/DC, Floyd, or Aerosmith tune. not as often as MMR or YSP does, but occasionally....Especially Zeppelin.
but its a great statioin, the thing i love the most about it is there is no morning show, just music 24/7 with minimal commercials.

Right Now Santeria Is On. i got this little portable radio next to my computer for some tunes while i use the computer, and i only get 102.5 102.9 104.5 and 107.5 on it. no 101.9 (not that i want that on anyway) its made to resemble a turntable, its really neat, the antenna is a black wire that i have running up the window and tied to the curtain poll.
