Allen Hunt Show Ending

"The Cain Break -- The Best of Herman Cain."

That would be the shortest program in the history of broadcasting. Speaking of whom: Herman hasn't been on the air much the past couple of weeks and the substitute hosts aren't saying anything about him. Vacation or a quiet phase out? Maybe after hearing him repeatedly refer to Justice Antonio SKAY lee uh recently, Wizbee finally decided he was too ignorant even for their audience?

Politically I agree with Herman on very little, IMHO his command of the English language is lacking, but looking at the 6+ Arbitron:

http://ratings.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/arb047

WSB is still cranking out ratings without "The Talk Master". They are at least 3 times WYAY's 6+. I don't have dayparts, but Mathematically Herman has to be doing OK for the station to have the ratings success it's having.

Cain was only one scandal away form living at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. W sometimes butchered the King's English too. I guess he is what the audience wants. I Know some very successful, intelligent, and rich people who "talk" in a simple style. Is it an act, I don't know, but if you judge someone by the way they talk you can be wrong.

Though I was being facetious, as penny-pinching as Cox is (i.e., delay broadcasting programs in order to add to commercial load) it would not be a surprise if they did something like, though Cain is hardly the correct prospect.

Does Cox have any other farm system talent they could throw into the M-F AM? For the short term, BULLS & BEARS on Sunday is a good move.

LOL, exaggeration of the highest order. Herman Cain wasn't even close.

There is a big difference between simple talk, and sounding like a third grade drop out. Yes, W butchered the language and was a complete embarrassment as the spokesman for what is supposed to be the most powerful nation on the planet. The last thing anyone needed was another "leader" who doesn't even know the name of the Justice he supposedly agrees with. That Herman Cain has kept a decent audience share isn't exactly a glowing endorsement of that audience. I still question whether all news radio in this market is really viable in the long term... which may explain 106.7's stagnant ratings over the past nine months more than anything Herman Cain has done... or hasn't done. I suspect WSB could put a talking parakeet on in that day part and sustain the same numbers.

Nothing they do on Sunday effects the M-F ratings..but let's just hope they don't put Rick & Bubba back on Sunday. WSB AM has already shown that Sunday is a throwaway with all kinds of out of context product...they used to run best of Hannity and best of other shows, now it's a lot of shows we've never heard of

He had a good start:

we will never know what could have happened. As I stated I am not a fan of Herman politically or his radio show but he is appealing to WSB's core audience.

Now back to Allen:

I think WSB should give politics a rest on Sunday, and run best of Clark Howard, Handel, Kim Kanado etc.

BTW:
Rick and Bubba are on Sunday AM 6AM till 10AM.

Two areas of agreement: you just don't know what you don't know, ya know?

I kinda wish WSB would just give politics a rest completely. ;D
