I just wanted to let everyone here know that on Friday December 7 at about 4:00pm Allen Vick's father passed away. Let's all keep him and his family in your prayers. The visitation will be tonight 12/9 from 6-8pm at Farmville Funeral Home and grave side services will be tomorrow morning at 11 am.
 
During a talk break Friday morning I heard him mention this and thank the many people who have been there for him. My family's thoughts and prayers are with you Allen.

I went by and visited with Allen tonight and he and his family seemed to be doing well. He really appreciates all of our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Allen, I am so sad to hear about your dad's passing. As you know, I lost my close friend in March and I know what you are going through. If there is anything I can do to help you, call me. Cozart told me that your dad wasn't doing well on Friday. Maybe we can get together sometime when I am in Gville, I have alot to share with you.

I am overwealmed.My father had a long,cruel illness and is no longer suffering.My Dad was my hero and the kindest,most humble and fairest man I've ever known.I am an only child and I am so fortunate to have great parents and friends and such a beautiful wife and children.The last few days have reminded me that family and friends are what its all about in life and I have sweated the little stuff way too much.Thanks again for calling,writing and visiting.If I can be half the man my Dad was I'll do just fine. I have a new appreciation for the good in people and again I thank you on behalf of my Mom,Wife and my two beautiful children Jared & Kendall..

:'( Allen Vick is my best friend. Unfortunately, his father suffered for a long time. He leaves a legacy of a son that would give you the shirt off of his back. I wish I could have known Allen's father. Jared and Kendall will be able to be blessed with a wealth of memories to be told to them by their wonderful grandmother, father and mother. I know that God will be with them during this time of sadness.

You're most welcome Allen. You are my best friend and I didn't get a chance to meet your folks, but I knwo that if they are anything like you they would be a pleasure to be around. Jared and Kendall have a great father and mother in you and Jamie and they should be very proud to call you their parents. Take care my friend and I'll talk with ya soon.

Merry Christmas to you and yours as well. It's tough being the holidays and all. I lost my mom in 1984 and my dad in 1997 both right after the first of the year so I can relate. You will get through it. My prayers are with you.
