Allyson Turner on 970 WFLA

I am an occasional listener to AM Tampa Bay. Firstly she doesn’t have much to say. This may be because she’s just new and doesn’t know a whole lot about the Tampa Bay area, or the fact that it’s tough to be the third wheel in a well established trio/duo, or Jeff Fishers isn’t giving her the airtime. I understand all of the above and with time this SHOULD improve.

However my biggest problem is that she doesn’t project. I know the days of booming radio voices has past, but she just doesn’t have a voice for radio. I find I have to strain (or turn up the volume) to hear her, and still have a problem.

Sharon Taylor she ain’t. Sharon knew radio and was a complete professional, no matter her politics. Somehow I think everyday at 9:10 Jack Harris is in the program director’s office (if they still have one) saying he can’t work with her.

Now that I know who Sharon’s replacement is, I can only conclude one thing: It was ALL about money.
 
I should been more clear. 8 am to late. All local stuff. No sat feeds of Rush. Bob Lasiter, Dick Norman, Lionel, Mark Larson, Uncle Sam on the weekends, etc...
 
I am so tired of Allyson Turner and her mumbling and monotone voice. I can only think she is related to some of the top brass as she doesn't fit and does not contribute one bit to the 5-9 show.
 
On March 4th I replied to this thread and gave her the benefit of the doubt. Now almost six months later there isn’t much (or any) improvement. She seems like a nice person, but brings nothing to the table.

Wow, with so many radio people available, it makes you wonder.
 
First and foremost, YES we miss Sharona!!! Secondly, I thought you folks were supposed to be "radio insiders"... Jeff Fisher (not Jeff Fishers) doesn't even work at CC Tampa anymore....

Allyson was brought in because Sharon was too opinionated and CC was looking for a weaker more agreeable female voice... someone who would behave and keep her mouth shut... they got what they wanted...

Fisher(s) was a typo, and he did work at WFLA in early March when the first post was made and Allyson started.
