Almost not worth mentioning

Last week, or maybe even the week before, WCCD, AM1000 was off the air again. I first noticed it close to 5pm and wondered why they had signed off early that day. The answer came the next day. They were off the air. They came back on about a day later. Still, the desire to own a radio station is still strong. How else do you explain 500 and 1,000 watt AM daytimers still finding a buyer, and thus new owners.

I remember thinking that the daytimer at AM1540 in Cleveland might be one to disappear, but then Good Karma swept in to buy it for overflow sports programming. Radio Disney sells AM1260 and finds a ready buyer in a Catholic operator. Here's a question: How many Radio Disney owned stations did not find a buyer, nationwide?

Disney only owns one of the former Radio Disney outlets, 1110 in LA. It is presumed, given that it is the last AM/FM broadcast license owned by Disney, it will go soon.

I don't think Disney turned in any of the licenses for the former Radio Disney stations, although some subsequent owners may have done so.
