Alomst Fall..

It looks like since were in the middle of Aug the Pensacola/Ft Walton stations are holding their own.
Rating wise, they suck however, if management doesn't decide to drop a format or two from country/top 40 I think more and more people will switch off their radios and listen to other media like XM or CD's.

I've discovered pandora on my phone. Neat idea! love it!

Anyway, if there's going to be a breaking point.. I'm sure more than likely after the holiday music mashup if a change should occur, will happen. (when the majority of us turn off our radios.... HINT)

I do listen to radio in times of emergency, and skip conditions.

One more point..whoever came up with FLY 92.1 must have been drunk, sorry, but that name sounds dull.

Fact: "Fly 92.1" is the name of a top-40 radio station covering the worlds largest Air Force base. Uh, got a better name? Didn't think so.
Fly was the shiznit back when it launched... but it didn't take a year for it to dive. Don't knock it too much Rob, the guy who launched Fly is a regular, respected, member of this board. I don't think any format has done this well on 92.1 since they dropped country. Fly did well but appeared to have it's budget slashed as soon as people discovered it.

I can't see any programming changes in the Pensacola radio scene except for the following possibilities:
-Translators coming on air with new formats to fill in the holes. None of these will reach Navarre. I expect WRNE-AM and WNRP-AM to be the first two stations to go live on Translators.
-Hopefully 98.7 will go HD with HD2 and HD3 channels... If they can find translators. This would make room for two new music formats in Pensacola... AAA and Oldies are my guesses. Leasing an HD2 to Mobile's 92 Zew so they could feed a Pensacola translator would be awesome!
-104.1 and/or 100.7 flip again... and maybe even flip again...
-107.3 re-branding but not really flipping.
-The longest shot, just because of the market layout, would be a 100kw Clear Channel news/talk station. The only Clear Channel station that isn't stable is 107.3. If any other Clear Channel station changed formats I would be shocked.
-92.9, 93.3, 94.1, 94.9, 96.1, 96.5, 97.5, 98.1, 98.7, 99.5, 99.9, 101.5, 102.7 and 104.7 will not change. I've got a couple bucks to bet on this.

I never made the Fly connection. BH knew when to fly away. THAT's the only smart decision that was made at that tin can. How are they going to maximize agency buyz on that station?

OK, I take that back. I honestly thought fly meant "this is fly" ugh..

anyway, I never got a HD lock on 98.7.

Here's what I did hear in HD

90.7, 92.9, 94.9, 96.1, 101.5, 104.1 (not anymore) and 107.3

Fly 92 sounds like a better name that fits with the type of music it plays.. Unlike 107.3 the Groove. Haha, it amuses me the imaging it has. Oh well, I give up. And I'm sure Fly 92 does not play Pitbul, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj more than once in the same hour. I wonder, who controls the music selection? Are they just running short of songs? Ever heard of Old-Skool, 107.3?!? They should choose something or else..Like polka?

Anyways, I would like to see 100.7 go. Nothing special about it. It's a clear signal but a wasted format. But oh wait, it's a Cumulus station. Duh! See The "Avoiding Super Bass" thread...if you know what I'm talking about.

WABB sounds good these days. Great sound quality, especially online. Nice mix show they have during the weeknights.

I'd love to see 99.9 go Classic Hits as 107.3 once did. We need Tom Kent back, y'all. Leave 94.1 alone. It would really make sense. I'm sure it would attract a lot of listeners. Especially the 35+ age population. I know it will. Clear Channel, it's up to you.

104.1 is great. Rob, you must Not be friends with Jack?! Why flip it.

Everything else is great!

Did they kill their HD feed (JACK) I love that station, too except their signal craps out east of FWB.
