Alpha & EMF Swap Portland & San Antonio Area Facilities

KHHL will be a satellite of K-Love most likely. Hopefully EMF can take better care of it than Alpha has LOL.

When you look at the signal for KZLV, it’s almost certainly going to be a compliment for K-Love. It wouldn’t add anything for Air 1.

I wonder if the sale already went through today khhl is silent

I don’t know what you mean by “went through,” but it was just filed with the FCC at the end of last week. With a few exceptions (like receivers and trustees in bankrupcties or estates), a transfer generally takes a minimum of 60 days.

If you’re talking an LMA, Alpha could have already handed control over day-to-day programming to EMF. You'll notice that soon if that's the case. EMF doesn’t goof off when taking over a station and installing its programming.

KHHL is most likely having issues with audio to transmitter link, like they have lots of times in the past.

It came back on but seemed to be in low power

That looks to be a Vertical Bridge tower. So likely just routine maintenance and unrelated. Alpha and even Border in the later years did their best but that station was never going to be a San Antonio station. Plus being that far out and in the middle of nowhere was probably a constant struggle to keep on the air. Too far out for a reasonable STL shot without costly multiple hops, no good telco circuits and no high speed internet, I’m sure it’s been a headache. Couple that with low population and no local ad base makes it an almost impossible challenge. EMF is about the only operator that might find it useful.

I would of thought of KHHL being a Victoria station more than a San antonio station. It comes in Victoria fairly well. Looks to me on radio locator the fringe is right on the edge of San antonio.

I can only imagine....

Sadly, people in Guam and the US Virgin Islands aren't receiving the electrifying words of K-Love!

They are in american samoa :)

But Puerto Rico is... even though they don't really speak English there and CCM in English isn't really that popular.

WCAD honestly would have had better use as a stronger signal for the very popular Spanish CCM station in San Juan, WNVM Nueva Vida.
