Sounds like the format of NJ 101.5. Do they still play music nights and weekends? I agree with you though. If you're correct, this really isn't a format flip. Cancel the excitement. ;-)

This seems more like a reimaging rather than a format flip. Infinity is just doing what they've been doing on a local basis for several years, except with uniform imaging in several markets simultaneously. This is not something we haven't seen before. New packaging, same contents.

IT STOPS A LEGIT ACTIVE ROCKER

I have been saying this for months, either rock 24/7 or be talk/sports. The problem is the greed of YSP to keep the rock part-time, stops a station from flipping to a full-time Active Rocker. YSP is just enough rock to stop a legit station from going Active 24/7/365, with little talk and plenty of Rock, I cannot put MMR in the class of a good Active Rocker.

WMMR Sounds like Classic Rock

Greed? You mean the funademntal, free-market approach of maximizing profits?

None of us knows if the new approach will work. But since when is it a problem for a station to try to capture the most listeners they can? If a competitor feels "stopped," that's their problem. It's not McDonald's responsibility to make sure Burger King can open up across the street from them.
