It really don't matter. Everyone wants to broadcast farther than 200' and I'm sure they will. Most of the xmtrs out there put out too much power, new, from the box, and I see it as easy pickings on the F.C.C.'s part to collect income if they choose. Anyone working outside the limits is a pirate anyway..

Why does everyone think that the guy running 5-10 watts is the "Pirate" when many are just as illegal according to the law? (They just have bigger kahoonas)

We're all the same, guys.. Trying to keep a legal FM station "Legal" is a joke!

Think a pirate radio section would work nicely since there arw so many pirate operators out there and it is not talk to much in this section. I am all for one I could even be a mod for the section we get one I have a decent ammount knowledge in Pirate Radio. See alot of people thing is it a bad thing because they think pirates are trying to cause trouble if they know what pirates were really trying to do they would like it.<P ID="signature">______________

We have not, are not, and will never create a board designated to discussing ILLEGAL activity.

On second thought, maybe the FCC could help us pay for some hardware if we did create that board. People would brag about their overpowered (and probably harmonic horror and deviation disaster) "stations"..then the FCC could get the proper court order for us to release the account holder's information and they can recoup the "donations" to the site by busting people and fining them into poverty.

Hello,

I must have missed something. What prompted this post? You say it doesn't bother you and that we should enjoy the board and then you say let this pirate FM thing go. Am I wrong that you imply that topics don't bother you but we should let some go? I really do not understand what you are saying.

What I was basically stating is that people shouldn't keep asking for a Pirate board, when you have this board.

People just keep posting, however, asking for one, as well as going as far as posting a link for their own pirate board. Sam already stated that Radio-Info won't start a board about pirate radio, as it is an illegal act. I say, use the current board for discussion about your "community radio station", part 15 or not. Just don't drag in talk about pirate radio stations you hear (That should be left on the regional boards anyways, like I have seen on the Chicago board).<P ID="signature">______________

Thanks for your reply. I did not recall seeing recent posts about Pirate FM here and was just curious as to what prompted the discussion.
