Alright Tampa, Here we go!

PPM officially starts tomorrow. Just out of curiosity - I'd like to hear your predictions and such for each station. Also, are they currently "PPM-Ready" - are they doing everything they should to get the best ratings?

Historically, PPM has been a boon for rock stations, and frowned upon by urban stations.

With that said, I still think WXTB will continue to struggle (sorry!) - and I notice those calls aren't even in your signature... you're not that embarrassed by 98 Rock, are you? ;)

I am surprised CBS hasn't brought in a T40 to this town to hurt CC. After CC switched 103.5, I would have gone after the jugular. Anybody know why CC was given a free ride?

Don't count 'em out just yet. The next likely candidate to change formats is smooth jazz 94.1, and as mentioned here a few months ago, CBS recently registered domains with pop-music format nicknames and the number "941" in them...

You would think they would switch WRBQ before considering the Jazz.
Who is listening to Q105?
At least with the Jazz they own that format. No other Jazz in the market.

Interesting ... so if true, do you think they will keep the same call letters?

I think WUSF 89.7 FM with jazz 10p-6a Monday-Friday, 9p-6a Saturday and 11p-5a Sunday, hosted in part by the extremely knowledgable Bob Seymour, disqualifies that "no other jazz in the market" comment.

Smooth jazz, and other formats that rely on time spent listening more than cume, do VERY poorly under the PPM. The format will likely be virtually extinct within the next year or two. The PPM typically reveals that people don't listen nearly as long as what they wrote down, so all those all-day office diaries go away.

1) Q105 could go up in the PPM. I think WCBS went up . I can dream

2) The jazz on WUSF is so far beyond the soft AC and whatever they call jazz on WSJT.

Is that a joke...or is there really a radio show about Twitter?
