Indeed they do, but perhaps the main channel, realizing where the bulk of viewership is going to be on this day, is probably giving viewers a preview of what their sister network does so as to extend the visibility of the "Book TV" brand.

Or maybe it's just a typo.

I checked c-span.org, and the Mother Ship WILL be broadcasting its normal public affairs programming. C--span 2 also known as Book TV will have its usual First-Sunday-Of-The-Month long-form interview with an author, Peter Bergen of CNN, from noon till three pm. At 7:00 pm there's an hour-long interview with a publisher in the book industry. I saw it last weekend; it was enjoyable, but it's not for everybody.

No Charmed marathon from TNT this year? ???

That isn't their biggest show. Plus WE Network has the nightime rights to the show now. TNT according to my tv listings is show Law and Order until 6pm then Disturbia then at 8pm Forest Gump.

Also to add to the list: (these movies/shows start at 7pm EST)
Nickelodeon - The Rugrats Movie
Disney Channel - Encharted
ABC Family - Toy Story 2
Animal Planet - Puppy Bowl

As mentioned Big Love will be brand new, and HBO has aired a new Big Love during the superbowl during all of its previous season outside season 1 I believe.

As for new stuff on channels that depend on ratings. Hmmm, outside halftime specials (including in living color on pre-nfl FOX) I can't think of any real scripted new stuff.

It's not in my best interest to admit this, (because I REALLY love the American super bowl ads)
but this particular year is also most likely the best year in years to go see a movie at the movie theater during the super bowl.

I'd be interested in finding out how cheap advertising rates would be for other shows competing with the Super Bowl.

On the contrary, competitors might have an advantage from viewers flipping channels during the football breaks between commercials.

I taped "Knocked Up". I was going to use VHS to tape both "America's Funniest Home Videos" as a precaution, but ... I'll explain elsewhere.

Last year or the year before, Fox aired new episodes of "Til Death" during the SB. In 2007, they ran new episodes of some non-animated Seth McFarland show (think it was "The Winner") during the Oscars
