Harvey Danger - Sometimes You Have to Work on Christmas would made a good addition to that list.

I'm just curious about your reasons to start playing christmas music this early in the year. I generally don't play any until at least the second week of December.

I think it was just what we all thought as a group. do think it is to early or should we push it back a week of 2?

Personally, I don't see any reason to play any Christmas music at all before December 1st. Here in southern New England we've had 3 Boston stations and 1 Providence station switch to all-Christmas, all the time since November 12th. I don't get it.

If Wal-Mart and Macy's can have the Christmas trees up before Labor Day - why is it so hard to fathom Christmas music 4 weeks before the holiday?

As a true alternative station, RadioX doesn't play Christmas music. That's ALTERNATIVE.

Let me add in:

Better Than Ezra- Egg Nog Singalong

kind of hard to find a good quality version of this one though.

IMO, alternative stations should stay away from playing any type of holiday music...they should be the ALTERNATIVE to everyone else shoving it down our throats

IMO... Christmas music, done right, can work on Alternative Stations.. just cater to the audience. Alternative listeners probably won't want to hear Bing Crosby, Burl Ives and Brenda Lee... but modern versions of classic songs, and new Christmas Songs by new artists can be a hit. One of my most requested Christmas songs last year was Fountain's of Wayne's "I Want An Alien For Christmas."

The Yobs and selections from "Punk Rock Xmas" for me, please.

On the novelty side: Throwing Toasters "It's Xmas Time", and Eric Cartman's stirring rendition of "O Holy Night".

Jimmy Eat World covers Wham's "Last Christmas", which is a good one, and I didn't see it on any lists
