Was listening to WXEG HD-2 which is known as "The Alternative Project" - Premium Choice's Alternative feed. Well... the drops say "The Alternative Project" but it's not playing the usual alternative playlist. I caught on to this a little before midnight so I thought "maybe they're doing something for Thanksgiving" but why would they do that? A whole format change especially when these feeds have FM affiliates. Well, after midnight it continued and I caught the 1am hour.
Eminem - Without Me (2002)
Gin Blossoms - Found Out About You (1994)
Alanis Morisette - Head Over Feet (1996)
Madonna - Like A Prayer (1989)
Nickelback - How You Remind Me (2001)
Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal (1988)
Natalie Merchant - Jealousy (1995)
2-Pac - Changes (1998)
Radiohead - Creep (1992)
Blues Traveler - Run-Around (1995)
Sister Hazel - All For You (1997)
Guns-N-Roses - Paradise City (1988)
Sheryl Crow - Strong Enough (1994)
New Kids On The Block - Step By Step (1990)
Nelly - Country Grammar (2000)
Looks like the median year is around 1994.... sounds like a conservative Gen X station to me. They just gave up Gen X on HD-2 to make way for the 80s on WMMX... but yet they still play 80's on WMMX HD-1... wow. Sounds to me like they don't know what to do on HD Radio in Dayton.... or anywhere really. I do enjoy this format though. If it flips back to alternative and this was all a huge CC mistake, I'll let ya know! Besides the imaging claiming "the alternative project", the music mix is good. Right mix of late 80s, 90s, and the rhythmic product is balanced well.
