Alternatives to yes.com?

Are there any alternatives to the very buggy yes.com available to see what songs a station has played (other than a Mediabase subscription)? Yes quit working on 12/16 - the site went down, and the logs for the stations in my market quit updating, and eventually most of my local stations disappeared from the site. Tunein.com, which is fed by yes.com, no longer has the information either. Some stations use sites like tunegenie.com for info, but with companies like Clear Channel, they only show the last 10 played.

Anything out there? Yes was all I knew of for a lot of stations.
 
Actually, is there any way to get my local stations back on yes.com? Do I write to YES or the local stations? It was so easy to look past hours up, and I can't find an alternative anywhere. All of the other markets/stations I know to check are still on there (except for my own, Greenville, SC, and Louisville, KY). I don't know why the ones here disappeared.
 
I know there are more important things to get upset about but I really miss looking
at Louisville and Indianapolis along with other stations in the Midwest and South.
And there are many "blank" entries .....a supposed "song" that played but there's no
info on the artist or title. Also, why all the "duplicate" entries? Can't get rid of the potty-mouth message board either. Once saw a message that told everyone to go #### themselves.
Wish smaller markets would report. What happened to them?
 
From what I've noticed, Greenville/Spartanburg, Birmingham, Louisville, Oklahoma City, Little Rock, Montgomery, Pensacola, and Richmond seem to be the ones that are missing for the most part. I miss it as well, in addition to the playlists on tunein.com (which got its recently played info from YES)

It's funny that just ceratain markets from certain states are missing, mostly in the south and eastern/southern midwest. I e-mailed them and they said they were looking for a new monitoring location for these markets, so I don't know what happened. Hopefully they will re-appear soon. The songs that show up in the "- - -" form are odd, as they show up on the "chat" part fine, but not in the past logs. It seems like YES chooses which markets they want to report.
 
YES purchases the data from a 3rd party.. That 3rd party monitoring service stopped monitoring those markets for one reason or another... since yes lost their source of data for those markets, they disapeared. My guess the monitoring service was not making any profit in those markets and found it expensive to continue pulling data.

That is exactly what happened. YES told me that they are trying hard to find a new monitoring location for those markets, so it is more than likely that they will return at some point. The Chattanooga stations were gone for months, but returned.

What is interesting is that the markets did not all disappear for once; for example, the Charleston, SC stations disappeared 3 weeks after the Greenville, SC ones.

Yes told me exactly the same thing earlier last month. They said they were switching data provider.
 
I also emailed TuneIn earlier last month and they said that they only have access to the terrestrial (over the air) feed if the feeds are provided online and I believe same thing goes for Yes.

It means that Yes and TuneIn log radio stations over the air. I can prove this:

Back in 2010 when KVIL's both analog/HD side in Dallas went dark over the air on the 103.7 MHz frequency, Yes stops logging any further songs during that period. After a few minutes, a song pops up on Yes, but 103.7 was still dark. Not really, the HD side was still off while the analog side came back on. And, I didn't realized it till I tried to break the HD signal on my HD radio receiver by changing the frequency back and forth to receive the analog signal which I heard the song that just pops up on Yes a while ago and when the HD signal locks back on, it was dark again which means their analog side just barely came back on while their HD side is still off. A few minutes later, their HD side is back on as well.

I realized that Yes and TuneIn logs radio stations over-the-air, so if the radio station tower gets knocked out and goes off-air OR if the radio station connection or feed stops feeding over-the-air then Yes and TuneIn won't log the radio station even if their online streaming are still working.
 
Btw, last Thursday, March 1 around 6AM Yes and TuneIn stops logging all the radio stations across the nation. Looks like the terrestrial (over-the-air) feeds online provider shuts off for the whole nation at that time. Around the evening that day TuneIn starts logging radio stations again and it looks like they're logging radio stations through their online streaming rather than their terrestrial feeds because stations like Renda Broadcasting's WEJZ and WSHH without online streaming aren't being logged now while all other stations with online streaming are being logged on TuneIn now. Plus, Yes is also back logging radio stations online streaming along with TuneIn, but it only log some of the songs and the artist names are in caps with song titles in regular-case. It looks horrible, I wish they bring the terrestrial feeds provider back online that they had for years. :mad:
 
Yeah, it's definitely logged over the air.

YES is working again somewhat (Indianapolis, Greenville, and Greensboro/Winston Salem are working for me), but it is very, very buggy. The markets that had disappeared back before Christmas are back. They are more than likely setting up a new monitoring location for those markets and need to do work on the website. The times are way off, too, though - it has the Greenville, SC stations an hour behind.

Whoa, sounds like they're logging the Greenville radio stations through their online streaming from the "Central Time Zone" system, that's why it's an hour off. I wished they kept the older system they had for years in which they log songs over the air via terrestrial feeds. Don't fix it when it's not broken!
 
They lost the monitoring location for those stations back in early winter. It wasn't their decision. Whoever "monitored" the stations decided not to do so anymore (probably because the site's glitches). They've just now gotten a new monitoring system set up (which is logging the stations terrestrially), and have glitches to fix on the site.

I've learned one thing with Yes - it goes down a lot, but always comes back. They're just slow.

Oh, and it's monitoring stations it hasn't in ages, in smaller southern markets like Augusta GA, Fayetteville NC, etc.
