Altoona-Johnstown Where Are They Now?

Radio Rich is still at WTRN doing the spots and play by play for Tyrone football.
Shane Fedeli is working in the Harrisburg area.
I think Kate is working for Delgrosso's Amusement Park and the last I heard, Adam Lee (Denny Smith) was doing home teaching.

I know Tom West is Tom Looney on Fox Sports Radio.

I wonder what happened to all of them.

Marissa just worked for AMN while going to school. As far as I know she stayed out of radio after graduating.

Marty took over programming for me when I left and then went to Nashville and was working promotions for artists such as Martina McBride the last I heard from him.

sorry needed to amend.....it was scott finkle who took over programming for me....

some other WMAJESTERS were Roger Cory, Mike Donavan, Willie Nelson, Scott Porter, Dave Jacusckie (i know i messed up the spelling)... and who was the little african american guy that did mornings for a few years in the yearly 80"s. He was off the charts fun to talk too. (Greg something i think...maybe). Missy Stover, Steve Jones, Melanie Lenze (whom i swear i heard on Fox News Radio nationally the other day).
B-103sters "X - 103, The Music Fm" in early 80's Kevin Slick, Bob Bartalamao, Ron Adams (boy did i pull that name out was the Pd) and Jay Parks (Jerome Epple) & Mark Thomas (who had a tremendous voice)..Also a guy named Bill worked there (can't remember his last name) and took over pd duties after Adams left.

I could name more names at other stations, and will if this thread keeps legs.

Todd Jeffers was a 100% wild man though... i partied with him and he could drink anyone out of the room and still not turn into an A-Hole... but be extreamly funny.
Joe Trimarchie was the ringmaster (GM) at that time.
Jack Culp was a class act that is a class act.

Tom Looney is actually Tom Looney.. he used Tom West on WGMR but uses his real name now... dang near drove off the road when i heard him doing sports with JT "the Brick" on fox sports radio.
Tom was always a fun guy.

Two more names, both from news from when I was there, 79-81:

Steve Abbott, ND. Worked after that at a Philadelphia sports scores service, but I lost track of him after that.
Pam Wilson, anchor/reporter. Excellent young voice, good writer. Got married, moved to (?)Texas(?) and I lost track of her there.

Steve Jones was doing sports then, too, starting his epic career.

GoToGuy: It was Dave Dzikowski (damn hard name to spell), as mentioned higher up in this thread.

A young fellow with a distractingly sing-songy voice named Balogh (BAY-log) was our "meteorologist" because AccuWeather was with the gang cross-town.

Jack Culp was a class act that is a class act.

Kevin Slick is working for Ron a=Adams at his station in Ligonier
Bob Bartolomeo.....went on to be a Rep at United Stations...not sure if he is still there or not
Scott Porter is doing construction in Lock Haven I think...last time I saw him was when I was with the bus
Dave Dzikowski is working at PSU
Greg Banks is in Johnstown
Jay Parks was with Forever the last time I saw him
Mark Thomas is in banking in Philly I think...married Kathy from the front office
Bill Landis (#1 fan of Hulk Hogan LOL) Was working at an atomic power plant the last I heard
Joe Trimarchi is retired and in Lancaster area
Jack Kulp still doing his thing in California KOIT morning show and doing quite well
Roger Cory with Forever at WALY

whew...too much talent on this board. I'm going to do what John "The Maverick" McCain pulled before the debate. I will be flying back to Washington as soon as possible to get this mess straightened out. I have also cancelled the Letterman show. I am most surprised that many of these folks aren't in the big markets by now. You know, the A & P's, Giant Eagles, etc. I guess Sheetz would be considered a secondary.

others....
Steve Jones....mornings on 3WZ...and of course doing Penn State sports
Gary Sinderson....part of the 3Wz morning show and has been news on WJAC for years
Dave Dallow....last seen programming in Tulsa.
Sally Sherman....last seen doing NPR in DC.
John Miliwski (sp?)...news on WMAJ...last seen on C-Span
Rhonda Schaffler....news intern at WMAJ....last seen doing Stock Market Reports for CNN.

Jay Park (Jerome Epple) is in sales at Wolf Furniture in Altoona
Willie Nelson, after graduating PSU with degree in Aerospace Engineering, is working for the US Govt. Dept of Defense in Long Beach CA
And, add my name to the list of ex-X103's; I did Saturday nights from the February 83 to April '84.

Are you the same jock who used to do WQWK way back when? I used to listen when I was traveling through SC. Haven't been there in a long time though. I apologize and I haven't followed up on A-J-SC radio until I discovered this site 8). Just wanted to satisfy my curiosity. Many thanks.

Why do you have so many jobs and whatever happened to the original Bobby Day, the "Dean of Clearfield Radio"?

Because I love what I'm doing. Bobby decided not to stay with the company after the sale. Bobby is now over at WOKW.

This radio business doesn't seem to spawn much loyalty. I mean no disrespect to you folks in the biz, but it seems there are a lot of you people who can't decide what you want to do, where you want to do it. For Pete's sake settle down and
try holding the same position for awhile.

Has WCPA changed? Last time I was in Clearfield installing a satellite dish it sounded like WCPA was playing a satellite oldies format. But if I follow along on the score card some guy who used to be here, then there, then over here is now PD at WCPA. Did the satellite get unplugged, and if so could you let me know if any old parts need hauled away? Oh, and is the St. Charles Cafe still in business? Great lasagna!

You hit the receiver on the head Mr. All Night Satelite. It's not the business that is unstable, it's the damned folks who work in it. The towers don't move, the physical plants don't move all over the danged country, it's the people in the industry. By the way, do you think I should start serving lassange in my wagon? I could pre-cook the stuff and then re-heat it while "on location".

WCPA is live morning and midday and is still using the satellite oldies format....yes I've been around....but have also been in the State College market since '80. It's also nice to work different formats. No old parts need hauled away...engineers took care of that and yes the St. Charles is still there.
