Announcer may be sidelined by FCC rule

Federal political-broadcast regulations will require a local radio station to either pull a color commentator from its football broadcasts or give free air time to the announcer's opponents in a political campaign.
Although three candidates for Indiana Area School Board have signed waivers of their right to demand equal time, candidate Doug Steve may be silenced from delivering sideline reports from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Indiana Area Senior High School football games.
Within 60 days of an election, candidates are entitled to equal time from broadcasters when opponents are heard on the air.
[EDIT]
Democratic Party officials last week nominated Trimarchi - who failed to win a Democratic nomination in the primary - as their fifth candidate. Similarly, the Indiana County Republican Committee nominated Girardi, who placed sixth on the GOP primary ballot, to be the party's fifth candidate.
Barring an unexpected successful write-in campaign, candidates Baker, Girardi, Steve, Trimarchi and Werner would be elected to the five available seats in November.
