Finally truth has returned to the airwaves of Central Pennsylvania....The Liberal Looneybin on WRTA weekeday afternoons....I don't know if the damn thing starts at 2 or 3..and then I never know what time it is. The host seems to be one hour behind. Made me late for an appointment thinking it was only 2:30...it was actually 3:30. Thanks a lot. Other than the time issue the show seems to be a hit.

yeah but ONE HOUR of "liberal radio" doesn't seem to be enough time considering how much of the station is conservative. True, there does seem to be a technical issue or two not to mention the time snafu.

i'd be curious to see how that liberal talk show does, conservative radio is the way to go if you want to get ratings. With Obama in the house, Rush/Beck/Hannity are killing right now, I bet they secretly vote for every dem as it means more money/ratings in their bank accounts. Liberal radio tried to establish itself through the now defunct/bankrupt air america.

The Loony Bin made some good points the week it was on. There is a possibility of a return sometime during the summer. The "Bin" is no friend of the tea baggers or in the case of some of the women in that group, the tea bags!

Experience has indicated that regardless of a progressive or conservative approach, a well produced show with a talented host will do well. The biggest problem for lib talkers has been most lib talkers are often rim shots or lower operations. The Conservative talkers were first in the market and had established themselves well before many progressive talkers came on the scene. Talents like Ed Schultz do a very credible job.

WWKB 1520 in Buffalo is not a rim shot station, yet their ratings have "sucked wind" ever since they came on the air.

The lib shows just aren't that entertaining. That's the way it's always been.

Let's be honest here. KB's ratings have sucked wind for 30 years, ever since they were driven out of Top 40 by FM in the late seventies. They've been pulling 1 (one) shares for 20 years no matter what programming they slap on the thing.

"Top-of-the-dial" AMs like WWKB are non-competitive sticks everywhere in America. In Buffalo, KB's 50-kw signal at 1520 is dwarfed by WBEN's 5-kw signal at 930--and WGR's 5-kw at 550 makes it look like a pea-shooter. Not to mention Buffalo's two dozen FMs...

In other words, it doesn't matter what they put on 1520. Probably time to turn the SOB off and send back the license.
