I thought as much. I was trying to asses if anyone was stupid enough to spend that kind of money. I wonder what the guys drug of choice is and/or what the hell was going through his head when he came up with those prices.

I could not find any reference on Google to anyone using his product(apart from his own page). At those prices he can't be selling too many - if any.

I know this great guy, he designed this board.

Why all the negativity and anger toward this person ?

I know all it takes from talking to him that it would
be a few dollars of parts to make this work on part 15
AM radio.

Just do a A/B comparison with the AM1000 and make up your
own mind.

Why not just include these "few dollars" of parts? There will be a lot more takers then.

The modulation envelope shown on the website looks pretty distorted.. looks to be around 75% modulation with some serious positive peak clipping...I don't think this would sound too good.

I saw that too when I first looked at the photo's.

Why bother with this kit?

Why the hassle? Get an SSTRAN AMT3000 and either build this excellent kit (recommended) or buy one ready made, either way an excellent transmitter with excellent modulation and sound, second to none out there!

Haven't found another kit better, and can't express the excellent communication and advice from the maker of the kit!

Two possibilities: the transmitter generates a lot of distortion when modulated, or a really lousy audio generator was used. The pic doesn't show the generator...

Hi,

I don't have any experience with this kit, but I want to point out two things I saw on the website. First, this is crystal controlled and does not appear to be systhesized. You might want to check if you need a different crystal if you change frequencies.

Second, in the picture there appears to be an output filter (two wound torroids). This may limit your choices of antennas unless modified.

Sorry if you already knew this and I repeat, or if the answers are on the site and I missed them, but I see these as disadvantages as compared to the SSTRAN unit.

Wow,

I really stirred up some debate. I just thought his prices vs. offerings ratio was out there in a big way.

Wondering if he has had any sales at those prices. Also would have like to get my hands on documentation for this Tx. I'm not paying $175.00 USD just for a board and some schematics.

I have a Chris Cuff Alfredo Lite 100mw C-QuAM Transmitter with extra crystals and a Custom Built AM Sythesized Part 15 Transmitter by Dr. Jack Gittings :)<P ID="signature">______________
