AM 1000 in huntsville sold

Sold to Gospel Explosion Ministries. The price is undisclosed. Sounds like to me that Mr. Sharp unloaded his white elephant on somebody. The stations seems to be stronger now than it's been the last few years. Somebody must have put a new tube in the transmitter! Wish the new owners would bring back the REAL TAK.

I have noticed the same about their signal. Up to about two weeks ago, I could barely pull the signal out here in Cullman County, whereas the signal at times is almost as good as 1140. Btw, I noticed that WBXR has shifted towards a black gospel format.

WDJL(AM 1000) Was 10kw directional with a three tower array when it was a rock and roll station. It is now a non directional 1.1kw station. They recently installed a new transmitter and better audio processing.

1450 in Huntsville has been dark for a while but, on for testing recently since potential buyers are in town. When it is on, it is playing black gospel.

WBXR has a two tower array with a butterfly pattern (north and south). They operate with 15kw except two hours before sunset and for the first two hours after sign on. At those times, they operate with 7.5kw. I worked there in 1993 and they had a 1kw back up transmitter in case it was needed. They had a Texar audio prizm for audio processing then. I just love those units!

Hey Brian Voice Guy, see if you can nose around and find out what DJL sold for. Also, since Radio and Records is going away, do you or anyone else know of another site that has a list of ratings and transactions. Thanks.

All Access has a ratings section, but I couldn't find any type of transactions listed on the site. Might've just missed it. Seems as though they would list transactions somewhere, since both sites offer similar info.

Now that Inside radio has updated their site, they have transaction information and a link for ratings. www.insideradio.com
