AM 1060 in the RGV

Radio Nueva Vida's website claims a station on AM 1060 in McAllen, TX. From my files I see XERDO 1450 (formerly XEVH Valle Hermoso, now licensed to Brecha 73) had applied for 7kw days and 2kw night on 1060. Can anyone tell me if 1060 is on the air? And what's on 1450? They had previously upgraded that one to 5kw.

Radio Nueva Vida on XERDO 1060 would put them in direct competition with Paulino Bernal's Nueva Radio Cristiana on KUBR 1210 since they both appear to use the same format and same target audience.

I know the RGV is the capital of Spanish language religious broadcasting.
But can anyone tell me if AM 1060 is on the air?

There wasn't anything on 1060 when I checked this morning. There was something on 1450 and I managed to catch the call letters XERDO.

I don't know if it really has any bearing on this but I noticed that the grant of the 1060 application would appear to be on hold, due to an objection filed by Canada. I'd suppose that's because of CKMX Calgary but I haven't found any details yet.

It's a blessing in disguise that it is on hold for KOPY 1070. Even though it is directional I have my doubts that they would not affect KOPY with 7kW

KOPY has long co-existed with 10kw directional KENR (now KNTH) sitting on its channel just 200 miles away in Houston. It can probably survive a 7kw directional station 130 miles away one click over on 1060.
