AM 1110 Off The Air?

I never knew KDKA was on SW and from an area Im very familiar with after my time in Ord and my time in Laramie
It was a fascinating experiment, coming so early in the history of radio. That 1923-26 timeframe predated the start of NBC itself, and could have taken radio in a very different evolutionary path.

It's time that Urban One just releases 1110 to us radio geeks, and we can use the 50KW station to play what we want. Jack FM only plays 500 hits that he likes. We'll play Buddy Holly, the latest pop tune from Luxembourg, The Carter Family, "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport", Navajo Indian chanting, smooth jazz, acid jazz, classic jazz, world jazz, and even a random playing of "Kokomo". Plus Jack Benny old-time radio and other shows. With a "WBT AM Charlotte" ID at the TOH. Grassroots operation for radio geeks and by radio geeks.

It would be far better than that lounge music loop. Might even get local attention. The station with zero format.

Does anybody have some savings to pay those BMI/ASCAP fees?
