AM 1190 Moulton

I noticed on a recent trip down I-65 that I couldn't hear the little AM in Moulton. Can't see the tower on google maps either. Any idea what's going on? Is it still co-owned with WEUP?

This is the first I've heard of it not being on, but being a rural daytimer I'm kind of surprised it's hung on as long as it has. As far as I can tell it's still "active" and owned by the WEUP folks; there haven't been any FCC filings or notices that I've seen. This sent me down a bit of a wormhole as I went to my website's history page for this station and discovered it woefully out of data and thin on information, so I did some research and wound up writing new history for it and WEUP-FM, too.

The history page on my site for WEUV now has a correct link to the transmitter site and an old blurry Street View link. It looks like the tower location is several hundred feed west of where the FCC thinks it is. It appears that the old studio for the station back when it was locally run out of Moulton is also right there in front, a converted house.

Unfortunately in all the years I spent traversing I-65 between Birmingham and Huntsville or parts further north I never once heard 1190 AM because I was always on the road at night, and it's always been a daytimer. So I can honestly say I don't think I've ever heard this station in my travels across our state.

I'vesent a short email to the owner Hundley Batts to ask whats up, out of curiosity. Let's see if I even get an answer.
