AM 1260 (WNWK) airing Del State Basketball

1260 is owned by East Coast Broadcasting, Inc. not WXXY. 1600-Dover and 88.7 are owned by WXXY Broadcasting and Vince is only a 33% board member, a single person can not own a non-profit company and WXXY Broadcasting, Inc. is non-profit. Vince donated 1600 to WXXY broadcasting, Inc. The offer for 1260 was over 500,000.

Which is sad, apparently the station is going to Hispanic programming meaning those DJ's will now be laid off after such a short time.

Mike,

The staff has already agreed to work from the Dover station. The oldies will stay on 1600 and www.wamsoldies.com. We were told that WAMS Oldies will also re-broadcast on a lower Delaware station under LMA agreement. The three tower directional in Delaware City will give the new owner 2,500 watts day with a little more signal to the north. We still need to protect WBUD

So the DJ's still have their jobs with even better coverage in Sussex county via another station downstate, and it sounds like 1260's signal will be better towards New Castle and Wilmington areas that do have fairly heavy concentrations of Hispanics. Sounds like a win/win for all involved.
