Voicetrack of Reason

I noticed on google earth that the tower for the little AM station in Neon appears to be gone. They have an application to downgrade from 5kw to 1kw ND-D. Anyone know the real backstory here? I remember visiting this station 30 or more years ago, when it was WNKY.
