I've been flipping WCKG on once in a while when nothing else is on, just to see what is on the air.

I noticed during several breaks that shows are being sponsored by Michelle Dubiel. Is this the wife of the station manager Matt Dubiel?

This seems very odd that the wife of the GM is sponsoring programming. Is she actually giving money for this or is the GM using time he can't sell to advertise his wife's company?

If she is actually paying for the spots, is she in reality paying her husbands salary? This seems a strange if not a complety distorted buisness model. If she is not paying for it and Matt Dubiel is using WCKG to promote his wife's company acceptable to the station owners?

It sounds like a great deal for the Dubiel family and a big loss for the owners of WCKG. How long can this type of arrangment last before the station goes under? I really wish this station would go back to WJJG and play music like before.

I know it was brokered much of the time, they did have a unique show in Mike Bakers forgotten 45's. All that is gone now and this idea of trying to compete against the high power stations with this signal seems non sensical.

They claim to be the voice of Dupage county. How and what do Mancow and Alex Jones help Dupage county? I've not heard any local news or weather. How does this qualfy as the voice of Dupage County?

This is a strange way to operate a station, why not find one of the many missing formats and go with it? Oldies and lite are goom, why not put some music along with local news and weather on.

Could it perform worse than now?
 
I don't know who owns the station, but Matt runs it. He calls the shots. It's his station basically, he can do whatever he wants with it. If that means using his own income to fund it, that's fine.

What? He doesn't own it he runs and can do whatever he wants with it? Where did you come up with that conclusion? That is about the worst explanation I've heard in all my days on earth to describe a poorly run station.

The family of Joe Gentile own the station. They hired Matt Dubiel to turn the station into something that could make some money not kiddieland. Self funding? Do you really think that Michelle Dubiel is paying for the time?

Why the family is allowing this is anyone's guess, maybe they just don't know what to do with it. If Matt owned the station you would make a little sense. That statement you made is a joke, I hope your not in radio you'd tank a station in a week.

I hope they get this guy out of the station soon or just turn in the license, if Joe was still alive and well this wouldn't be happening.

Do you listen to WCKG? If you do that explains a lot.
 
No I do not listen. I'm not a fan of Mancow or Alex Jones.

I do know that Joe himself hired Matt to be the General Manager, and to run the station just before he passed away. Prior to Matt running the station, it aired brokered time programming with some adult standards.
