Is Salem likely to buy AM 640?
Disney has sold other stations to Salem .

Actually CBS is going to orchestrate a three-way deal: CBS picks up 640 from Disney and puts sports talk there, Salem gets 1210, moves the current WNTP lineup to 1210, slides the teaching format from 560 to 990 and relaunches 560 as one of their remaining brands. It's a confusing mess to make radio-watchers happy, while no actual listeners are actually impacted. :)

Looking at their station portfolio, would they WANT another AM?

Their two bigger formats are covered... Christian Preaching (560) and Conservative Talk (990)

Anything else they do is mostly music-based.

Contemporary Christian Music? We have K-Love on 106.9

Spanish Language Teaching and Talk? I don't know the Spanish-language demographic that well. DavidEduardo could shine a better light here. 1310 and 1340 both do Spanish, but in different flavors. Would a station like this fit/sell? On such a "big" signal?

Wall Street Business Network?- Would that format work in Philly?

And would they buy 640 and sell off a different signal? I doubt it.

Just my personal opinion.

Interesting. We'll see what happens, but the problem with CBS might be getting 640 AM, is their night signal, What Will CBS radio do about improving the night signal so that the whole region is covered?

That was sarcasm, Julius.

So are you saying that post 2 in this thread was a lie? If that was the case, I find that to be very insulting to me. Yeah I know that annoy people with my 1210 posts, but there's no excuse to insult people on this board. We are here to discuss radio, not insult and annoy people.

I have a feeling Jul would be a card counting genius. Someone should take him out to Harrah's and hit the blackjack tables.

Turns out not only did he fib about 640, but he's not really the Newlywed Game host either. Now, I'm insulted.

Jul,
Watch out for those smiley faces in posts. Game show hosts will getcha every time with their Pepsodent smiles.

My money is on Elmer. They weawwy need a wadio station. Huh huh huh huh huh huh.

Enough silliness about Salem County. What to do with 640?

Sell it to whoever still sees some value. If there was a big opportunity, buyers would have lined up for it. Well, one or two might. If Salem wants it for one of their other formats, more power to them. Or perhaps someone could pick it up for spare change and make a go of it with a brokered approach.

I think the phrase, "If a tree falls in a forrest...." could be applicable.

Disney must be asking for too much $$$$$ for am640 .
May have to lower the price in order to sell it.
could am640 add an fm translator that would cover Philly?
could it add towers & get more night power? Or move to a
new tower site?
