AM 720

Hey ;D
Last night I heard a signal on 720 here in Southern California. I think it was probably KDWN Vegas, but it had some show about Broadway that is not listed on the KDWN site. What station could it be? Thanks

On my 2-3 biz trips a year to So-Cal, I typically encounter a pretty robust signal from KDWN. That's my guess. Perhaps what you heard was special programming for the holiday weekend.

I'm 100% sure you got KDWN Las Vegas. I too live in So. Cal and its a regular here at night. They air paid programming on weekends.

So I guess the consensus is that we can rule out BBC Radio 4 from London (1kw). ;D

KDWN's signal is so strong in SoCal (and even up here in the Bay Area) that it's stronger than even many local stations. Probably the only way you'd be able to pick up any other station on 720 (WGN, etc) is if KDWN went off the air for some time.

I can't remember the last time I got WGN anywhere in California...probably back in the 70's...

KDWN was off the air at 2 AM when I was in Vegas a month ago, though it was not WGN nor any news/talker, I just heard either static or a Regional Mexican station in the background.

KSAH San Antonio maybe?

It's got to be KDWN it comes in clear here in Central California.

Sounds like the OP was hearing English. KSAH...which does have a nice signal, at least daytime.... broadcasts in Spanish.

I meant the post from "musicman" toward the bottom of Page 1. I think that station is regional Mexican.

First, I thought it may be the Hawaiian 720, now I am beginning to think it's KDWN, as several others have said. I doubt it would be KFIR up in OR since it's only 184W at night. I've never been to Sou. CA, so I could only say it could be only KDWN.

Here in Warminster, PA, a station playing polkas and all that near Harrisburg comes in at 720
during the day. At night, it's always WGN.
