AM 740

I have not been to the Dells in a few years now and there was a station in Baraboo 740 AM WRPQ that I always listened
too while hiking at devils lake. I am in Chicago and every night I pick up AM 740 from Toronto very clear. I was wondering
if that strong signal was hurting WRPQ'S 6 watt nightime signal. The last time I was there the Toronto station was off the air
and WRPQ had good range for the 6 watt nighttime and very good range for the 250 watt daytime signal. I was just curious
if the format was still the same and how the signal was, I know during the day we got a decant signal at least until Madison.

...I used to work at WRPX (now WMIN) Hudson/Twin Cities, also on 740, in '86. The Toronto 740 (when it was CBL, the CBC O&O) would cut into our nighttime signal to such an extent that I sometimes heard the CBC News underneath our CNN News around 9:00 PM. If CHWO has maintained the transmitter as well as the CBC did, they must be doing the same to the Baraboo station nowadays...

I have been hearing strong carriers on 740, also on 830 during the daytime here in West Allis. Could they (carriers) be future stations? I have been hearing them for several months now.
