I listened to his podcast of last nights show, and can't say that he has any more talent than about 100 other conservative talk show hosts.
Oh Gawd, another Andy Dean! Deace (pron: Dace) has nothing original to say but sounds like a teenager so that's how they'll pitch him to advertisers. Very long intro (the podcast takes about 3 minutes to get rolling) ... obligatory unidentified hysterical female sidekick ... yep, sounds like 100 other conservative talks show hosts.

So, apparently he was a hit in Iowa. Naturally he'll be a sure-fire hit in NYC.
In all likelyhood it's a "freebie" show that Salem doesn't have to pay for. The Host get's exposure in the "New York" market which is a feather in his cap and helps in him getting other affiliates, Salem gets the show for free and can load it up with their own spots. Who knows maybe this guy will end up on a real NYC station some day. :
