I didn't know they were off the air until I came here. WBOB isn't a real radio station. It looks like some dude named BOB has a show on WALE. So he did something real confusing and named his show WBOB. At least I think that is what's happening.
To be honest with you it makes no sense. The radio station itself makes no sense. I'm just watching the tropics and hoping for an end to all this.

Seriously though...... it is a bit confusing. However I've got to hand it to the guy. I bet that his internet station has a lot more listeners than WALE does. Wouldn't it make more sense to name his internet station TONY?

You can say that the show originates or a production of WXXX or simulcast but say something like WBOB providence when it is not the stations assigned calls the FCC may want a a check written out to them in the form of a fine.

A "W" or a "K" should be reserved for radio. When you have an internet station how about using an " I " ? I know the guy who operates Litefavorites.com . He's not using regular call letters for his internet station. That would just be confusing. So he made sure the station name and the website were similar. Which happens to be the smart thing to do. Now people know how to find it. Common sense!
But when you call your internet station WBOB, people are going to think it's on the radio. Secondly... they are are going to type in wbob.com to find it. Then a bunch of nothing will happen. Doesn't the guy call it 990 WBOB? That's even sillier. Nowhere in the country is there a 990 WBOB. So why would you call an internet station that? It's not even remotely accurate.
