AM BANDSCAN FROM COEUR D'ALENE

headed back to Nashville later today...so I had to do a scan last night in the car (I-90 @ 4th St CDA)

640 KFI Los Angeles
650 CKOI Saskatoon, SK
660 CFFR Calgary (no sign of Window Rock)
670 KBOI Boise
680 KNBR San Francisco
710 KIRO Seattle
720 KDWN Las Vegas
750 UNID - classic country
770 KTTH Seattle (no sign of KKOB)
780 KOH Reno
810 KGO San Francisco
840 KXNT Las Vegas
850 KOA Denver
890 CJDC Dawson Creek, BC
900 CKBI - Prince Albert, SK
1000 KOMO Seattle
1040 CKST Vancouver
1070 KNX Los Angeles (KVNI splatter)
1130 CKWX Vancouver
1160 KSL Salt Lake
1390 KJOX Yakima
1510 KGA Spokane
1520 KKXA Snohomish
1530 KFBK Sacramento

always strange to find other stations on "the east coast" clear frequencies

650 is CKOM. The 750 UNID is KERR Polson, MT. 780 is KKOH, not KOH. There's actually another DXer in Coeur'd Alene, you know fangio28?

You should have also heard 880 KRVN Lexington, NB, 1110 KFAB Omaha, 1590 KLFE Seattle and 1060 CKMX Calgary - LOUDLY.

I listened to a lot of country music when I lived out there (Spokane) I listened to 750 KERR a lot during the daytime (they actually put in a fair signal in Spokane during the day) and 880 KRVN at night. I also caught 880 KIXI Seattle, which overrode KRVN at just the right time when they powered up at dawn and it would completely fade out about 45 minutes later in the winter months.

I heard KFAB 100 miles east of LA in the null of KDIS Pasadena when I was out there recently. Didn't check for KRVN, but it used to come in. These days with all the clutter I'm not sure.

I logged KRVN once in Bothell. I had to null out KIXI carefully to hear country mish-mash. Also heard CKDM 730 Dauphin, MB that same night.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

You could actually hear KGA in Coeur D'Alane at night with there new Class B signal? ;D

yeah...not well...but it was there. I was just scanning in the rental car Sunday night...
not serious DXing...just jotting down a few finds. always strange to hear different
players on the "clears" while in the NW (normally in Nashville)

Ever since KGA moved to their new site the signal in Coeur D'Alene has been bad. Lots of fading.
It even had bad fading in the northern suburbs of Spokane! Even worse now with the lower power.
No wonder they moved the News?Talk to KJRB 790 with a better signal in the metro at night. I've noticed 790's just as good or better daytime than 1510 out on the fringes.

Did KGO come in well there? I wonder how far KGO can be heard to the east. Anybody hear it in Salt Lake City?

KGO was noisy...but fairly listenable. I was @ I90 and 4th in CDA...about 10pm PT.

Somehow, either their nighttime pattern or the Cascades seem to block KGO. My friend in Lynnwood, WA can get KGO BOOMING in and at the same time, in Eastern WA, I can barely hear them.

That's what I was wondering about. I know KGO has a north/south pattern. I was curious how far east it can be heard at night. For example Salt Lake City?

I've been as far W as Pacific Beach, WA and as far E as Yakima/Wapato, WA and KGO booms in no matter what. Only time I hear something else is at Sunset, when KTBI comes in, and sometimes KBHB Sturgis, SD at sunrise.

I know KGO makes it into Alberta. I used to listen to them in Calgary and did hear them in Edmonton after CHQR moved from 810 to 770.
