AM DX antenna impedance matching question

Hello All,

I have a question regarding impedance matching for an AM DXing antenna. I have space to put up a 6' high, 130' long wire antenna along a wooden fence. I can bring it to resonance using a tapped loading coil at its feed end, but due to the low height its impedance at resonance will be low, perhaps 15 ohms - 25 ohms or so. (I'll use an 8' ground rod and bare copper radials for the RF ground.)

I have an MFJ-16010 L-match antenna tuner, but its lowest rated frequency is 1800 kHz.

If I brought the antenna to resonance using a tapped loading coil (to tune out its capacitive reactance), could I then use the MFJ-16010 just to match the lower purely resistive impedance of the antenna to the 50 ohm receiver input?

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help. -- Jason
