AM DX catch of the night

Around 2:30am last night on the AM band, I picked up WWL 980 in New Orleans, LA. No antenna connections on my reciever, though the early 70s recievers typically had an AM antenna already attached to the back. Not bad for no other antenna hook up, eh? Any other good AM catches that aren't border blasters? Can anyone pick up WSM in Nashville?

I can get KFXY Enid, OK nearly every night, KOZN Bellevue, NE, KWKH Shreveport. Any clear night I can get WSN. KMOX Saint Louis, MO. and many more....
You should get a Super radio, they can really pull in them nighttime RF's.

For several months after Katrina last year, I had WWL in the presets of the $30 Sony portable radio that I keep on my bedside table here in SA. I'm afraid that's not such an unusual catch.

IMO, WWL's 10-midnight guy Deke Bellavia is quite entertaining when he talks about something besides the Saints. When he discusses the Saints on his show, I find it a great sleep inducer. ;)

If you want a little bigger DX challenge, try to get KOA in Denver on 850. I have trouble getting it as consistently as I can get WWL.

WWL is 870, not 980.
