AM Frequency of the Mid-week: 760 kHz

(I Googled for this frequency of the week on the R-D site, but found no results.)

Using a Sangean PR-D15 in extreme west-central Illinois:

Daytime I can (weakly) receive KCCV from Overland Park, KS.

Nighttime it is all WJR, Detroit, MI, normally having a noise- and interference-free signal here except during occasional deep fades. The nighttime field of WJR here can be as high as 3 or 4 mV/m.

But occasionally KMTL, a non-D daytimer licensed to Sherwood, AR has greatly interfered with reception of the nighttime signal of WJR here.

Reynoldsburg, Ohio, all WJR all the time. Maybe a 4 on a scale of 1-to-10 daytime, and not all that great at night given that we are about 160 or so miles south of the tower. Yep, we fall into the cancellation zone. Sometimes WJR comes in quite well, other times it comes in and out furiously.
In Toledo, where I went to college, it's a blaster. Best AM signal in town for my money, every bit as good as the best local (WSPD) and better than some of the smaller graveyard channels.

First of all, Rich....thanks for jumping in with this. I've been hoping for a little help carrying on with these! :)

Anyhow....far northwest suburbs of Chicago. Days: On a really, really good radio in a noise-free area, it's a very faint, but audible WJR. Nights: Usually, it's all WJR. Signal is good, but not exactly overwhelming. Once in a while I'll hear what sounds like SS underneath. Cuba?

Eastern Iowa, daytime nothing. I can't recall if the Kansas City station is faint at times, but I can't remember hearing it from home.

Nighttime, it's all WJR.

In the near north Chicago suburbs WJR is solid at night. I used to be able to hear it during the day before the 750 in Portage, In (aimed right at me) came on daytime only.

Here in W. WAshington:

KFMB San Diego N-S on good nights; CFLD Burns Lake B.C. on really good nights (also N-S); and on extremely rare occasions, WJR, E-W. So rare, I only positively IDed it once.

Houston daytime: weak KTKR San Antonio.
Night - usual mush of stations. Cannot get a clear ID from WJR.

In Pittsburgh it's WJR and really nothing else.

Used to have a listenable daytime signal here before WKFB moved to 770 several years ago.

Houston daytime: weak KTKR San Antonio.
Night - usual mush of stations. Cannot get a clear ID from WJR.

WJR is one of the blowtorches I heard growing up in the Midwest that I never heard in Houston. I always figured some of those signals gave out not far north of Houston.

Daytime in San Antonio is local KTKR. At night I can null it enough to hear a weak XEABC in La Paz.

I've heard WJR just once, back in February. It was very weak and in that partial null.

Eastern Iowa, daytime nothing. I can't recall if the Kansas City station is faint at times, but I can't remember hearing it from home.

Nighttime, it's all WJR.

Once you get down to Fairfield and any point west, Kansas City DOES come in. I think Brighton is it's furthest northeast point...maybe Washington on a good day.

YAKIMA WA
Days - nothing
Nights - Mostly KFMB San Diego (News/Talk). Although KDSP Denver (1kw) is very common nowadays with Fox Sports, when pointing the loop towards the east. WJR Detroit (News/Talk) is rare, but can be heard 2-3x a year. CFLD Burns Lake used to come in like a ton of bricks most nights when I lived in Seattle, but I don't know why they are just a memory here. They never make the trip to eastern WA.

Want list - XENY Nogales (1kw-day, if they leave it on with very good Au, maybe possible...unless they went FM already). XEABC San Sebastian Chimalpa is also on the want list (ABC Radio). And just for kicks, KGU Honolulu ;)

East Tennessee: By day, WETR, Knoxville. By night, WJR. I've heard KMTL, Sherwood, AR when they were on day facilities at night

Central Arkansas:

Daytime: KMTL Sherwood, AR (daytimer only)
Nighttime: occasionally WJR Detroit, otherwise mostly nothing
