Okay, guys. Since nobody has tossed out another one, I'll go again. What do you hear on 1050 where you are?
For me, far northwest suburbs of Chicago, days it's semi-local WLIP. 250 watts non-directional from Kenosha, WI. 33 miles to my northeast. Fair signal here.
Nights: WLIP stays at 250/ND, but usually gets lost in the slop. CKSB is usually the most likely to be on top, but I'd rate it as "semi-regular" at best. CHUM used to be a frequent visitor in the past, but not so much lately.
Sidebar point: What made me think of 1050 as a thread topic was this.... I was tuning the frequency before sunup this morning and heard WLIP all alone. Odd, but conditions in general were pretty terrible, so I chalked it up to auroral activity. And indeed the southern blowtorches were pretty much all present, while other more northerly regulars were very weak or missing entirely (CFZM and WTAM being two examples). Didn't find anything new or unusual from the south, however.
