For a short time, we had a very weak regular ground wave in SE Michigan from WBMB 1060 West Branch. They got an FM, WBMI 105.5, and decided that they didn't need the AM and turned the license in. I used a tuned circuit in series between a long wire and a ground screw in a nearby outlet, and coupled it inductively with the coil of the tuned circuit next to the ferrite loop in a Sony Portable that was FAIRLY sensitive on AM, very sensitive on FM. I would say that WBMB was in the range of 25 uV/m at my RL. The FM is now on Silent STA. They had a Class D minimum efficiency of 282 mV/m, indicating a reduced input according to the Canadian Database.

Nice catch.
CKMX is one of at least two all-comedy stations in Canada. The other is CHAM on 820 from Hamilton, ON. (Toronto area). I believe there also is...or was...a comedy station in Phoenix. Both CKMX and CHAM are difficult at my home location northwest of Chicago. But I've heard CKMX on a fairly regular basis before going to their night pattern in Minnesota and Wisconsin at various locations. CHAM is also often do-able in that part of the Midwest. On night pattern with WBAP or sometimes WCPT nulled.
I've heard CHAM a few times in the Chicago area. Usually around critical hours. What the world needs is more comedy stations. I like that concept.
North of Milwaukee and Madison, snagging them CHAM getting easier. I think CKMX was running the comedy format for quite a while before CHAM got into it. CKMX flipped from "nostalgia standards", while CHAM flipped from country. Hamilton would seem to be a good spot for an out-of-the-box format. A little over a half-million population, and a very crowded radio dial with strong signals from Toronto and Buffalo in the mix on both AM and FM. (Toronto's CFTR transmitter is actually just southeast of Hamilton next to a place where I like to stop for lunch on the drive between the two larger cities).
That transmitting site has a great shot at Toronto over the lake, and 8 towers! Used to like CFTR when they were Top 40.

Nights: Generally empty frequency - rarely catch KYW Philadelphia here even though WPHT on 1210 from Philadelphia comes in every night
Stations that appear from time to time include WQMV Waverly TN 1000/4 oldies (probably on day power), WKMQ Tupelo MS 960/12 news/talk (also probably on day power), and a Spanish
station (not Cuban) that I guess might be XERDO Tamaulipas MX 7000/2500 but I can't ID

Exactly....the pacel of land is right on the lakeshore. And yes, I remember CFTR when it was top 40. That was in the early 80s, when I first started going to T-O as a regular business destination John Landecker worked at CFTR for a time during those days. I don't think they ever overtook CHUM, however in the ratings. Despite CFTR having a somewhat better signal.
The first time I heard CFTR was in the late 70s. They may never have beaten CHUM, but I preferred CFTR the few times I was in or around Toronto.
Hard to argue. CFTR as top 40 was really good. As was CKEY (590) before they flipped and effectively opened the door for CFTR. CHUM's signal was better than CKEY, which was highly directional (and still is, as CJCL/The Fan).
I forgot about CKEY. IMO CFTR had a better signal than CHUM the times I was in Toronto. I was only there a few times. I'm sure you were there more than I was.
For nearly 20 years, I was in Toronto 3-4 times a year. You're absolutely right about CFTR. But the best AM signal in town, aside from 740, IMHO, was CFRB on 1010. Strategic location west of the city in Oakville, ON enabled them to concentrate their 50kw into target areas while still protecting WINS.
You're right about CFRB. Not being in Toronto that much I had forgotten. It always amazed me how Toronto & NYC has two 50KW stations not that far apart.
